Sean Strickland has grown to become one of the most popular fighters in the UFC over the last few months. He will be defending his title for the first time against the surging middleweight contender Dricus du Plessis at UFC 297. As we inch closer to the first pay-per-view of the season, let us take a look at a less-talked-about hobby of the middleweight champion – his bike collection.

‘Tarzan’ has mentioned his love for the two-wheeled vehicle many times during interviews and press conferences. However, fans don’t have much knowledge of what Strickland has in his garage, and that is what we are here to talk about today.

Despite his love for motorcycles, the middleweight champion has only two bikes that he rides. The first bike in question is the Yamaha Tenere 700. It operates in off-road situations and has a 6-speed manual transmission that packs 72.4 base horsepower. The second bike that he owns is a Harley-Davidson Low Rider S, which is a 1923 cc beast. In fact, Sean Strickland has been seen attempting much more with his Yamaha bike than just riding it off-road.

The middleweight champion has shared many videos and pictures of him attempting some crazy stunts with his bike. One of those crazy stunts was him riding his bike on a ramp over a pile of burning firewood. Not only that, but ‘Tarzan’ has also crashed on his bike multiple times. While most of the crashes weren’t severe, there was one that led to an accident that almost ended his fighting career.

‘Tarzan’s horrific motorcycle accident in 2018

A few years ago, Strickland was involved in a horrific incident that happened outside the cage. In December 2018, the middleweight champion was riding back home from a training session at his gym. He was on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle (which got destroyed, prompting him to buy another one later) and clocked at a speed of 45 mph when he suddenly collided with an interceptor. For hours, Strickland couldn’t feel anything as he lay on the ground in an unconscious state.

When Sean Strickland regained consciousness, he saw that doctors had surrounded him along with a police officer. The accident led to the champion suffering a torn patella tendon, and a separated knee, due to which he needed to get surgery. Strickland shared an image of him lying in the hospital bed on social media after the accident, which has now been removed.

Despite the near-death experience, Sean Strickland continued to pledge his love for motorcycles after recovering from the accident. The ever-vocal middleweight champion continues to indulge in activities that he loves while getting the job done inside the Octagon. Although he has just two bikes in his collection, Strickland could look to add more if he keeps earning those winning paychecks.
