In an interview with Red Corner MMA’s Denis Geiko, Sharaputdin Magomedov shared detailed about his new film commitment, explaining that he got the opportunity to play an assassin in a short film. The movie, produced by Los Angeles-based filmmakers, offered ‘Shara Bullet’ the opportunity to play the challenging role he couldn’t turn down. Despite his busy schedule in the UFC, “Bullet” jumped at the chance, and the producers took care of managing his visa and covering all associated expenses. Confirming the news, he said, “Yes, we were discussing it; my manager Ali is waiting for me. I’m getting a visa in a few days. When I get it, I will fly to America and perhaps star in that movie and train as well.”

Well, for film and Hollywood purposes, Sharaputdin Magomedov can travel to the US. However, in order to be a part of a UFC event, the answer to this is, not yet. No sanctioning bodies in the United States would allow a one-eyed fighter like ‘Shara Bullet’ to participate in mixed martial arts events. For example, the Nevada Athletic Commission’s rules state that a wrestler must have both eyes to obtain a license. This means that Dagestani will not be able to fight in the States despite a few reports claiming otherwise.

As a result, it looks like Sharaputdin Magomedov will have to wait before he finally gets a chance to be a part of UFC events in the country. However, he still can fight outside the country, like in his upcoming UFC 308 middleweight bout against 9-3-0 Armen Petrosyan. He also has possible Hollywood projects lined up for him, so working in the US is still an option for the Dagestani, albeit in a different field. What do you think?
