All we know about Macy Chiasson’s background and family

Macy Chiasson was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States in 1991. Her journey in MMA started at the age of 19 when she was bedridden for three weeks recovering from a car accident. She joined Krav-Maga classes to get back in shape but she never realized that this would change her life. She was amazed by the physical aggressiveness of the fight world and since then she has never looked back.

Very little is known about her parents as she likes to keep everything close to herself. Chiasson hails from “The Big Easy”. She attended the University of New Orleans. In addition to her love for MMA, she also has a bachelor’s degree in biological studies and civil engineering. Despite being from New Orleans, Chiasson doesn’t represent the city as she fights out of Dallas Texas.

“I made a lot of sacrifices financially to move to a better camp to become a better fighter and a better athlete,” said Chiasson in an interview. Well, now that we know about her background, let us know about the incident that nearly killed Chiasson and forced her to relocate.

Why did Chiasson have to relocate?

Back in 2019, a massive accident happened at Macy Chiasson’s residence in Dallas. A construction crane stopped just above her house and fell down after it snapped in a thunderstorm killing 1 and injuring 5 people. Chiasson saved herself at the cost of losing everything that she had excluding her dog, telephone, and a leash. She described the testing time, “It’s been a little bit of shock and thankfulness, as far as being alive and just skimming death … I’ve lost everything.”

She lost all of her trophies, MMA attire, and even her parent’s photos. “This could have been prevented. People don’t realize how bad it was. Unless you were there, you don’t understand the suffering people went through,” said Chiasson in a conversation with MMAJunkie. The fighter later sued the “Bigge Crane and Rigging Co.” for their irresponsible conduct in handling mega machines.

She shifted back to her parents in New Orleans before coming back to Dallas once again. Things could have been a lot different if she would have been at her house. Regardless, Chiasson’s life was spared. What’s your take on the situation? State your thoughts in the comments below.
