In the competitive landscape of UFC, many lackluster fighters come and go, often being cut from the roster due to their performance and lack of enthusiasm. A recent example is Dagestani-English fighter Muhammad Mokaev, among many others who have faced similar fates. Ismail Naurdiev’s family moved to Austria due to the Second Chechen War. When the capital city of Chechnya, Grozny, was torn apart, Naurdiev and his family left the country when he was just 9 years old. They settled in Austria, a story that parallels that of the promotion’s newcomer Islam Dulatov, another fighter who was a victim of the Second Chechen War and decided to move to Germany.
