Being a proud fighter from Kyrgyzstan, Orolbai began his training in his homeland. It was Ullu Kyrgyz Team in Osh, Kyrgyzstan, that accepted the lightweight fighter in. And it was Tynchtyk Omurzakov who trained him to be the kind of fighter he is today. Judging from the picture of the coach in various reports, it’s safe to believe that Omurzakov is a well-respected police officer who trains fighters in his gym.

But the Ullu Kyrgyz Team is not the only team that Orolbai has affiliations with. He also trains at the Team Alpha Male, Sacramento, CA. And the man who trains him is none other than the former WEC champion and ex-UFC bantamweight and featherweight fighter, Urijah Faber. After all, he was the one who founded the gym in Isla Vista, California.

Talking about the former UFC contender after his exceptional victory over Elves Brener at UFC 301, Orolbai said, “Urijah Faber helps me a lot. I met him two years ago, and I always see him every day in the gym. I feel like I’m getting better on a daily basis.”  And Team Alpha Male seldom drops behind in highlighting some Orolbai’s finisher moves.
