Dustin Poirier is one of the UFC’s most popular fighters. Poirier is unquestionably one of the finest fighters in the world right now. The fact that he is ranked fifth in the UFC men’s pound for pound division only strengthens his argument.

Throughout his career, Poirier has defeated numerous elite fighters in the UFC. Conor McGregor, Dan Hooker, and Max Holloway are among these fighters. “The diamond” was also the Interim UFC Lightweight Champion. Poirier was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. He spends most of his time in Lafayette, where he stays with his daughter and his wife, Jolie Poirier. However, to train for his fights, Poirier moves to South Florida.

Dustin trains at the American Top Team, which has produced some of the best fighters in the world. Jorge Masvidal, Junior Dos Santos, and Amanda Nunes are some of the talents the gym has produced.

American Top Team’s main academy is in Coconut Creek, Florida, where Poirier trains for his fights. Poirier’s gym is easily one of the best MMA gyms that the United States has to offer. The striking ability that the fighters from ATT possess is some of the best the world has ever seen.

What’s next for Dustin Poirier?

Dustin Poirier is all set to try his luck to clinch the lightweight title from Charles Oliveira. Poirier and Oliveira will fight on the 11th of December 2021, at the highly anticipated event of UFC 269.

The event is taking place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. A win for Poirier will cap off an amazing year for the fighter. Poirier has already won two fights this year against Conor McGregor.
