Jon Jones has undoubtedly been one of the best fighters in the light heavyweight division. An opportunity to fight with Jones is what any fighter would dream of as he has been one of the most dominant fighters in the division.
In the past, like any other fighter, Jan Blachowicz too dreamed of fighting and defeating Jones. Blachowicz is himself one of the top fighters in the light heavyweight division, and a fight between the two would be an exciting one. However, this narrative seems to have taken a turn because, in an interview, he revealed that he is no more interested in fighting Jones.
Jones was last seen in the octagon at UFC 247 and has been missing in action ever since. As a result, Blachowicz seems to have moved on. In an interview, he said, “I think Jon Jones, this conversation is over. It’s not making sense to talk about him anymore. I don’t know. Maybe he doesn’t fight anymore, anywhere at heavyweight or light heavyweight. I don’t think so.”

Speaking about his previous intent to defeat Jones, he said, “A half year ago, it would be a different way — ‘I have to beat him, I’ll find him somewhere and beat him.”
While the light heavyweight division has many outstanding fighters, Jones’ absence is still definitely a loss. The fighter also runs a risk of becoming irrelevant in the UFC arena as the light heavyweight division is booming. However, when Jones returns, it would be interesting for fans to watch him fight Blachowicz.
Jan Blachowicz vs Jon Jones: A dream match
Jon Jones gave up his UFC light heavyweight title back in 2020, in order to shift to heavyweight. Despite this, he is yet to make a return. He has been on the sidelines for a long time but is expected to return in 2022. He revealed on Twitter that he was preparing to move to the heavyweight division. Facing top fighters like Francis Ngannou, Alexander Volkov and Stipe Miocic can ensure a smashing return for Jones.
Honestly I feel like the only people that it benefits, me jumping in their early are the other heavy weights. The way I’m training, I’m gonna be a real problem this time next year. I’m comfortable enough to wait and that’s exactly what I’ll do

On the other hand, Blachowicz is not completely closed off to a fight with Jones but is focusing more on other fights in the light heavyweight division. He will fight Teixeira at UFC 267. Thus, it seems like a match between Blachowicz and Jones won’t be happening anytime soon. However, there is always a possibility that both incredibly skilled fighters may cross paths in the future.
