Conor McGregor is gearing up for his acting debut in the remake of ‘Road House‘, slated to release on 21 March. With promotions for the film going on in full swing, he recently appeared in an interview, and, to no one’s surprise, also revealed his plans for a UFC return this year.

McGregor mentioned that there is one factor that will play a key role in helping him to decide when he makes his UFC comeback. Being the biggest MMA star in the world, the 35-year-old gets constantly asked about his return, which has been due since early 2023. However, ‘the Notorious’ is taking his time exploring other ventures, given that he’s in a good financial position. Let’s take a look at what he had to say.

Conor McGregor is eyeing multiple fights in 2024

Conor McGregor is slated to face Michael Chandler on his comeback. However, one fight will not be enough for the Irishman, it seems. He revealed during the interview that he’s looking to fight twice before 2024 comes to a close. The UFC star stated, “Now, I am gonna enjoy myself and after that, hopefully, I get a fight date booked. I am looking to compete a couple of times by the end of the year.”

Nevertheless, his decision to return will depend on how people react to his movie. Claiming a unique position, he said, “I will wait till I see how the reaction [to the movie] is and see how I feel about it and then make a decision. I’m in a blessed spot. My game inside that Octagon is far from over and I’m ready to get back,” McGregor added.

It remains to be seen how ‘Road House’ fares when it releases on 21 March. But the fact that it will affect McGregor’s decision of when to come back has made his return taking place sooner rather than later in doubt. And as far as ‘Road House’ was concerned, McGregor also revealed that early plans did not involve him in the entire movie.

‘The Notorious’ was earlier planned to appear in a smaller role in ‘Road House’

The trailer of ‘Road House’ showed a lot of glimpses of Conor McGregor displaying his acting chops. However, initial plans for him in the movie were rather limited to a few scenes, which were changed later. According to the Dubliner, “Originally I was kind of, I was to come in… would have been in and out [in the film] in a short bit. And then they kind of kept adding more and more.”

After getting a taste of acting and working in Hollywood, McGregor is trying to explore the possibility of a career in acting. However, he is not yet sure about it and will take some time to make that decision. “Maybe it’s an opportunity for something down the line, I don’t know,” the Irishman added.
