Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov fighting at UFC 229 is a big part of the promotion’s history. Their heated rivalry led to huge disputes before and after the fight happened.

After submitting McGregor, Khabib jumped the cage to attack his opponent’s Jiu-Jitsu trainer, Dillon Danis. Many condemned this action, as it was unprofessional. He was thus, fined and suspended for his actions.
The proposal for Khabib Nurmagomedov: nine months, $500K fine. Subject to shorter suspension (not to exceed three months) if he films an anti-bullying message.

Singer and rapper Wiz Khalifa, who is now an investor at PFL, had previously commented on the incident. He also had a solution for such incidents that could happen in the future.
He wrote, “I don’t think he should lose his title because he fought really well. And the fact that their emotions got into it. It was a lot leading up to the fight. Like everything. So it was really hot before the sport. I think just as professionals, maybe they should try to be a little bit more up here, but it’s hard because their start is so much sh*t just to, you know what I mean, entertain everything.”
“I think that UFC or whatever an organization is planning a fight, they should be better at the weight-in, make sure that people aren’t disrespecting people’s families and stuff like that that makes it lead to all of that.”

Wiz Khalifa may have been on to something. There is something similar that has happened recently. Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal’s rivalry was recently taken to the Miami streets. As a result, the latter got into trouble with the law.

Thus, it is a proud moment for Khabib fans to see him square off fighters when once he was the very fighter facing off. On the other hand, McGregor is aiming for a comeback after his leg injury and subsequent surgery. He is interested in fighting for the title.
