“When Mother Gives Permission to Fight”: Fans React to UFC Vegas 70 Fighter Looking “More Like Khabib Than Khabib Does”

The retired UFC champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov has recently made headlines as one of the reasons for his retirement was out. The Dagestani fighter took the entire UFC by storm when he announced his retirement in 2021. Back then, Nurmagomedov himself declared that he didn’t want to continue fighting as his father was not there to guide him and his mother asked him to retire. Nurmagomedov’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, stood with the champion from the very beginning of his fighting career as a coach and a mentor until his death. Furthermore, ‘The Eagle’ wanted to devote his care and attention more to his family as he has little kids. 

In an interview with UFC Russia, Islam Makhachev stated that Nurmagomedov retired because he listened to his mother. His mother didn’t want Nurmagomedov to stay in the dangerous sport. The MMA world now has a fighter who looks more like Nurmagomedov than Nurmagomedov himself! At least, that’s what fans think.

The internet was taken by storm when ‘MMA Mania’ posted the picture of the lightweight fighter, Nurullo Aliev, from the UFC Vegas 70 weigh-in. The fans were shaken up by Nurmagomedov’s doppelgänger, Aliev.

One of the fans felt that Aliev and Khabib share so much similarities when it comes to appearance.

One fan thought that the person in the photo was Nurmagomedov himself!

One of the fans mentioned that he didn’t know anything about Nurullo Aliev. However, by just looking at the fighter’s photo, the fan said he was going to win.

After assuming that Aliev is a Russian martial artist, one of the fans claimed that all the Russian fighters look the same. However, in reality, Aliev is from Tajikistan.

Another fan was not able to believe that the photo was not of Khabib Nurmagomedov’s.

Ever since Islam Makhachev set foot in the UFC, many thought that Makhachev was the brother of Nurmagomedov. The assumption was based on the similarities they shared when it came to their appearance and style of fighting. Later, it was understood that they were not. Nonetheless, they both are from the same place, and both of them took their initial training under ‘The Eagle’s’ father. Based 0n this one of the fans commented;

He is also the first-ever Tajikistani fighter to compete in the world’s biggest MMA promotion, the UFC. In his previous fights, Aliev has made sure that he gave his opponents a tough time through his grappling skills.
