Conor McGregor recently took a dig at his former rival Nate Diaz on social media. He even referenced the controversial ending to Noche UFC as well. However, Diaz did not hold back from sharing a response. In an X-rated rant, he blasted ‘The Notorious’, which could be a tease for their trilogy fight.

Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz had one of the most engaging rivalries in the history of the UFC. They fought two fights, and both fighters shared one win each. However, the Irishman recently mentioned that he dropped Diaz thrice in their second fight. Let us take a look at how the Stockton native responded to that statement.

Nate Diaz rants on Conor McGregor

The Stockton native, in response to Conor McGregor’s tweet, mentioned that he regrets giving the former double champion the rematch after he had won the first fight. Nobody thought that Nate Diaz would win, but he defied the odds and submitted McGregor in the second round. He said, “When I killed you off I should’ve never gave you a rematch.”

Furthermore, Nate Diaz mentioned that he hardly gets a rematch like Conor McGregor does. In addition to that, he also claimed to have allowed ‘The Notorious’ to think that he’d won the second fight. The Stockton native added, “I never get a rematch especially when I don’t really lose like n our 2nd fight or my last fight I just let u pu**y run off into sunset like you won ..”

Nate Diaz suggested that Conor McGregor live with the result of the fight instead of thinking too much about it. “Live with it ur both pu**ys,” said the former UFC fighter. Given that they still have a lot of bad blood, there could be a rematch in the future, something that McGregor has been asking for a long time.

Will there be a trilogy fight?

Both Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor have mentioned their urge to fight with each other for a third time. Both of their fights have been some of the highest-grossing fights in the history of the UFC. Moreover, McGregor even mentioned recently that he has a three-fight plan ahead of his return. He is considering a fight against Michael Chandler, then BMF champion Justin Gaethje, and finally Nate Diaz.

Similarly, Nate Diaz echoed the same sentiment a year ago when he said that he stated that he loved the idea of a third fight. However, those plans seem unlikely as one fighter is yet to make his UFC return while the other is no longer with the promotion.

It remains to be seen how things will pan out in the near future. Dana White has already mentioned that he has no problems with Nate Diaz returning to the UFC. Hence, we cannot rule out the idea of Diaz vs. McGregor 3. We will have to wait and see how things pan out in the future.
