Eminem called out Dana White, and the beef made headlines. Strange as it might sound, people actually witnessed this unlikely rivalry a while ago. A genre-defining artist, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call ‘Slim Shady’ the biggest rapper of this generation.

But apart from producing iconic songs, Marshall Bruce Mathers III, aka Eminem, is best known for using his rapping skills to diss his opponents—disses so deadly that they could end careers. So, what has the UFC president done to invoke the wrath of the ‘Rap God’?

Recalling the time when Eminem made headlines with his callout of Dana White

A couple of years ago, the internet was taken by storm when a clip featuring Dana White and Eminem went viral. The clip appears to be from the newsroom of ESPN, where the two men could be heard exchanging heated words. During the conversation, White claimed that Eminem’s upcoming opponent would be too difficult of a challenge for Eminem, who can’t overcome his ‘demons.’

To this, Eminem slammed the American entrepreneur for lacking faith in his fighter and discredited his opinion of him. In Eminem’s own words: “I think that the best part about your opinion is that it doesn’t matter, and if every fighter had listened to your opinion when you doubted them, you wouldn’t have a f*cking league.”

For those wondering, the said incident was a skit and actually part of Eminem’s 2021 music video ‘Higher.’ The video takes place inside a fight ring and follows a UFC theme. The song is a reflection of ‘Slim Shady’s personal experiences with addiction and his subsequent journey towards recovery. Thus, the opponent whom White referred to as ‘Demons’ is nothing but Eminem’s struggle with substance abuse.

Eminem is not the only one to diss the UFC President

Dana White deserves all the credit for taking UFC from its dark days to where it stands now. But regardless of his achievements, the American promoter often finds himself on the receiving end of criticism from his fans. The most common reason behind these criticisms? Fighter pay!

Last year, American YouTuber turned boxer, Jake Paul, followed the same theme and fired some shots at White. The ‘Problem Child’ didn’t stop there and accused White of being a ‘cokehead.’ Taking this mudslinging to the next level, Paul also released a diss track titled ‘Dana White Diss Track.’ And unlike the incident with Eminem, this one wasn’t part of a skit.
