The couple faced a lot of trolling and backlash online and even from other UFC fighters like Sean Strickland for Anna-Lee’s book. In response to all the bashing, the author finally had to clap back.

“That satirical look is really silly,” she said. “Anyone that takes it as fact has completely missed the mark, low and behold sarcasm isn’t well taken especially with American audience. British humor and sarcasm is often lost, at the time it was a huge success and people got the joke. it went out, it was funny and it did great.” 

Most noticeable, Ian Garry’s beef with ‘Tarzan’ was one of the longest lasting spectacle of the previous year. Both the fighters received much wanted and unwanted publicity on the internet. Strickland made some fans out of his bold nature and Garry was trolled endlessly for a relationship that is entirely private.

How did Ian Garry and his wife Layla Machado Garry meet? Do they have kids?

According to reports, the couple initiated their relationship towards the end of 2020 and have remained together since the start of 2021. At that time, the MMA star was fighting through the ranks of the ‘Cage Warriors’. The two soon began seeing one another and eventually decided to tie the knot.

The couple opted for an understated ceremony on February 26, 2022, in Las Vegas. However, they had previously announced their engagement just before ‘The Future’s’ UFC debut in September 2021. Shortly after their marital union, Garry and Lee welcomed their first son into the world.

In recent times, Garry had to pull out of his last bout against Vincente Luque at UFC 296 due to an unforeseen pneumonia diagnosis. The family also reported their son experiencing similar symptoms, but thankfully, after a while, both, Garry and his son were out of any dangerous situations with their health. Now, Garry continues following his idol Conor McGregor as he prepares for his next UFC 298 bout.

Shortly afterward, Garry opened up about his experience of training with ‘The Notorious’. “When we were doing MMA sparring, you seen it in the video that he posted where he brought out like the OG Conor, like the split sand squat. The hand came out and the spin started coming I was like get the f*ck out of here.”

Now, the Irish prospect is ready to face Geoff Neal at UFC 298. ‘The Future’ and his previous pulling out of the fight has stirred much disappointment among fans and many were worried about the Irishman’s health going into the next bout. However, after the whole Strickland beef, Garry looked prepared to go to war.

He uploaded a video where he spoke about moving up in his weight class just to defeat the then champion Sean Strickland. It would appear that he wants to stop the trolls with his performance.
