With Sam Cooke’s song playing in the background, Michael Chandler just gave a huge update. He was supposed to fight against Conor McGregor but got canceled because the latter injured his toe. Since then, he has been trying to move on and find another opponent. Looks like he succeeded because he recently uploaded an Instagram post with a cryptic message. Chandler wrote, “Wheels in motion to bite down on that mouthpiece again…bet on yourself, always. Walk On.”

This might mean a thousand possibilities, including the fact that he might be fighting against Connor McGregor again! ‘The Notorious’ wants a chance for a December fight, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Chandler had almost waited two years to fight against McGregor; unfortunately, the latter had to go through surgery after losing to Dustin Poirier and was on a hiatus. Then came UFC 303, where again Chandler’s hopes got crushed as his opponent injured his toe.

After so much waiting, during Beat The Heat, Michael Chandler again took shots at Conor McGregor and said that he was ready to move on from the Irish superstar. “I’m not gonna ever play the victim…It’s more just, with all due respect, I’m ready to put you behind me. I’m ready to put you flat on your back in the middle of an octagon wherever it is, hopefully Las Vegas, Nevada. And I can walk out of that octagon and never have to think about you again. I can just ride the coattails of the eyeballs that were there that night,” said Chandler.

On the other hand, Dana White recently went on Instagram and updated UFC fans on the fact that he was apparently going to announce news related to McGregor. On top of that, Chandler decided to give this cryptic comment on Instagram. This has made many fans speculate about the return of ‘Mystic Mac’.

White hinted, “Conor news is coming up; we’ve got Oliveira news coming up; we’ve got Chandler news coming up.” This is a surprise for the fans because the UFC head honcho was adamant that McGregor would not be fighting in 2024. Dan Hooker is also in the mix now because he wants to fight the Irishman instead of Chandler. ‘The Hangman’ won against Mateusz Gamrot at UFC 305 and spoke inside the Octagon about his next fight.

On the other hand, when it came to Chandler versus McGregor, many were under the impression that they would be fighting in December. However, Chael Sonnen shared, “An inside scoop that I’m getting is that the UFC wants all of those same things (McGregor vs. Chandler); they just wanted it in January in California.” From the recent update, it is clear that Chandler knows something that we do not.
