The current women’s flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko, is quite optimistic about her future. She is less than pleased with the state of the UFC women’s flyweight category, though. Shevchenko trains day and night so that she may return to the octagon more powerful than before. She is furious every day because the UFC isn’t able to match her up with an opponent. The Kyrgyz and Peruvian fighter continues by describing how helpless she feels when she must spend an extended period of time away from the octagon. She goes through rigorous training in order to defend her championship at any cost.
Valentina Shevchenko: All set to defend her title
‘Bullet’ planned to fight in December, but the UFC failed to match her with a suitable opponent, so all of her preparation was for nothing. Her constant training in preparation for a battle is challenging. She acknowledges how avidly she awaited her bout from September and how she never received any encouraging news. “If they call me tomorrow, I’m ready tomorrow,” says Valentina. She expresses openly her unhappiness with the division’s lack of activity.

“I want to fight frequently, but I realize this is a problem for the UFC to find opponents in order for me to fight frequently. My understanding is that everyone would love to fight for a title, so what’s happening with you girls? Why so quiet?” adds Schevchenko. She is still looking forward to defending her title after all of her wins.
Bullet defended her title for the sixth time at UFC 266. Lauren Murphy was her opponent, and she triumphed in the fourth round via TKO. Later, on June 12, 2022, ‘Bullet’ faced Taila Santos; she ultimately won via a split decision.
