“What We Wouldn’t Do for One Final Show”: Fans Join Conor McGregor to Mourn the Death of Irish Music Legend Christy Dignam at 63 Years of Age

It is indeed a sad moment for the Irish and the world of music. The frontman for the Irish rock band Aslan, Christy Dignam, left the world at the age of 63, on June 13, 2023. With songs like ‘What If Tonight’, Lucky Star’ and ‘I Feel Alive’, the musician has been immortalized in the hearts of the fans.

Along with the multitudes of mourners, the former UFC double champion, Conor McGregor joins hands as he pays his tributes to Dignam. The Irish fighter took to Twitter and offered his condolences. Without a doubt, the world joined in with ‘The Notorious’ and began pouring in their emotions in the comments section. Dignam had a huge impact on the musical world and was a loved Irish star. The world stood together with prayers as he left for his heavenly abode.

Christy Dignam was previously diagnosed with amyloidosis, a rare disease linked with cancer and organ failure. After battling the disease for about a decade, the musician succumbed and left the world. The man played an integral part in the culture of Ireland. His death undeniably shrouded the entire globe in a black curtain of grief.

McGregor is indeed proud of his heritage, culture, and of course, music. He wrote on Twitter, “RIP Christy Dignam.” The proud Irishman seemingly had his head hung low as social media users responded to the news.

One of the fans declared that she would do anything to attend one final show.

It was Dignam’s daughter Kiera who announced the sad news on Facebook. “On behalf of my family, it is with a broken heart that we convey the news of my father’s passing, Christy Dignam. Dad peacefully left us where he wanted to, at home today 4pm Tuesday, June 13th 2023.”

Kiera hoped fans would allow the family privacy during such a painful time.

Soon after the ‘Mystic Mac’ offered his condolences to the musician, the fans came together in the comments section and joined in the mourning.

One of the fans further declared that McGregor did a fair play by not forgetting one of Ireland’s own.

Few fans denoted how big of a loss it was for Ireland. 

Some of the fans also mentioned the legendary singer’s hometown, as they offered their prayers

Furthermore, the fans were quick to relay that the musician was a legend and would forever live in their hearts.

Nevertheless, the entire world closed its eyes as a tear trickled down with a prayer for Dignam’s peace.
