UFC welterweight fighter Leon Edwards has reacted to a wild rumor about him in a hilarious way. Former UFC star Chael Sonnen said Leon Edwards is getting paid by the UFC to step aside for Conor McGregor. The #2 ranked welterweight fighter is expected to face champion Kamaru Usman for a title fight soon.

Sonnen’s claim made a lot of noise on social media, and Edwards decided to end it in his own style. Soon after, the 30-year-old quote tweeted a news piece about Sonnen’s comments and added his two bits to the controversy.

“😂😂😂😂 chael what the fuck you on about”
Chael Sonnen recently shook the UFC welterweight fans after Dana White almost confirmed Leon Edwards as the next challenger to Kamaru Usman’s belt. He said on his YouTube channel, “I am being told that Leon has been offered his show and his win, whatever was negotiated for Leon to fight Kamaru is being offered to him.”
“‘We will mail you a cheque to step aside. We have the right to push you aside, (but) we don’t want any hard feelings. And, we acknowledge that you deserve this. So, we are going to send you what you agreed on and you get to stay home.’ With the belief being that Conor’s gonna step in.”
Conor McGregor had shown interest in making a comeback with a title fight against the UFC pound-for-pound king. However, the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ laughed off the idea, claiming it would be a murder inside the Octagon.

However, Dana White had confirmed earlier this year that Leon Edwards is “100 percent” next in line to face Usman. “That kid’s had a rough run and he deserves it,” said White.
Belal Muhammad mocks Leon Edwards amid title fight rumors
Belal Muhammad recently racked up another win to add to his ongoing streak and extended it to seven fights. He defeated Vicente Luque in a rematch after six years and covered up for the previous loss in their first clash. ‘Remember the Name’ won the fight via a unanimous decision after five rounds of intense fighting.
After the fight, Muhammad was clear in his approach and addressed the matter of importance – a title fight. The UFC welterweight division is currently stacked with worthy title challengers for the UFC pound-for-pound best.
Colby Covington, Belal Muhammad, Leon Edwards, and Khamzat Chimaev are all asking for a chance to go at Kamaru Usman. Add Conor McGregor to the list and it is a headache for the UFC president.
However, Dana White has currently picked Leon Edwards as the chosen one. Although there is no official confirmation or contracts so far. Muhammad feels ‘Rocky’ doesn’t deserve a title shot more than he does. Moreover, he believes he is getting favored unfairly.
“I don’t think [Edwards] deserves to fight for the title. I think that I do, I think he got that Dana White privilege. But whatever, I don’t expect to be handed anything. I have to fight for everything I’ve got and I’m willing to keep doing it.”
