According to Dana White in 2023, Power Slap League’s second event, held at the UFC Apex facility, achieved massive views on social media. White made a stunning claim that the event had surpassed the 2023 NBA’s Eastern Conference finals, much to the skepticism of the fight community. Cut to a year later and it seems like the UFC head honcho is finding it difficult to make the same claims for his next Power Slap event. As a result, he pulled off a stunt that has now been mocked by Joe Rogan.

Taking to his Instagram, the UFC CEO shared a video in which he announced a $256,500 McLaren 600LT Spider giveaway for Power Slap viewers. In the post, a model was seen hitting a Lamborghini with a sword, revealing that she didn’t take good care of her car before breaking the window of the supercar. After capturing the audience’s attention with the bizarre move, she proceeded to announce the giveaway on camera. Joe Rogan came across the video when Derek Munro, a fitness educator and entrepreneur from More Plates More Dates, brought it to the UFC commentator’s attention.

The duo were talking about social media influencers and Only F*ns models on JRE #2239 when Munro talked about the social media post that Rogan was unaware of. He said, “Dana White just posted it. He was like, ‘Check this s**t out.'” He further added, “It was a collaboration I saw a few days ago. They’re giving away a McLaren or something for the next UFC event, I think, and she’s the one who’s talking about it after smashing the window of a Lambo.”

The duo then watched the video on the podcast that seemed to break Joe Rogan’s heart. The UFC commentator kept screaming throughout the video, asking the model to stop. “Oh, don’t do it! Don’t… is that a crowbar? Oh, what the f*** are you doing? Oh, Jesus.” In fact, he even lost confidence in humanity after the clip, as all he could say after watching it was, “Wow, we’re the dumbest f*****g race.”

It seems like the UFC commentator was really affected by this publicity stunt, especially after seeing that it was all just to promote the Power Slap league. A league that he called “just as dumb” after watching the video. Those last words by him are a telling sign that he’s not the biggest fan of slap fighting or the Dana White-led Power Slap League. But is it really the case? Let’s find out.

Joe Rogan reveals his true feelings about Power Slap

Despite the controversy surrounding it, Dana White‘s Power Slap continues to attract a sizable viewership. Unfortunately, his friend and JRE host Joe Rogan does not appear to be comfortable with the idea of this league, and he has been firm in his stance from its start. During his podcast episode with Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson on JRE #159, Rogan attempted to put himself in the shoes of a Power Slap competitor and expressed his thoughts on this odd sport.

So what did he say? Well, the UFC commentator simply declared, “I wouldn’t do it.” He further added that he was fine with others doing what they wanted. They could bull ride, do a BMX jump, or perform all the stunts where people risk injuries. But while Rogan would let others perform those risks, he feels he wouldn’t do anything as risky as Power Slap, especially after even medical professionals spoke out against it.

In another episode, Joe Rogan discussed the serious consequences of a powerful slap if it strikes the wrong part of the face. He said, “Like you have seen slap fighting. They get slapped unconscious. Just a slap. They are ready for it. They are like professional slappers. I watch those f*****g clips. I am one of those idiots. One of the dudes was like, ‘What are you going to do with the  money?’… I will get my wife some new t*ts.” Well, it surely looks like the JRE host is fully against it. But what do you think? Do you accept Power Slap as a sport? Let us know in the comments.
