Learning English is one of the prime skills that Dagestani fighters like Khabib Nurmagomedov often focus on. His teammate, Islam Makhachev even trashed Charles Oliveira because the former champion wasn’t fluent enough in English. But what about Nurmagomedov’s countrymate, Sharaputdin Magomedov? ‘Bullet’ has attracted quite a bit of attention and to build up even more hype for himself, he needs to rely on his communication skills.

So today, let’s take a look at ‘Shara Bullet’s tools for communication and find out which languages the undefeated mixed martial artist speaks fluently. After all, that’s all he needs to put his beliefs out in front of the fighting community.

Magomedov hails from the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. This gives us some clue that ‘Shara Bullet’ must be proficient in some Dagestani dialects. During the pre-fight press conference for UFC 308, the undefeated Dagestani striker took the help of a Russian translator to answer the questions thrown by the media. This showed how fluent ‘Bullet’ was in his mother tongue.

‘Bullet’ has also spent some significant time in China. He competed in Chinese fight promotions in 2017 and 2018. This might have brushed off a few words and phrases on Magomedov. However, we haven’t really seen him speak any Chinese dialect. His primary language remains Russian, but he can certainly understand and speak English.

Coming from humble beginnings and financial struggles, ‘Shara Bullet’ grew up in the tough neighborhood of Makhachkala. It’s indeed the same place that Islam Makhachev hails from. But unlike the other Dagestanis, Sharaputdin Magomedov has been cursed with the deadly sin of wrath. There was a time when the one-eyed fighter engaged in a street fight and the visuals went viral on social media. Nevertheless, he found his way to the world of mixed martial arts through Muay Thai. This was following his fallout with his soccer team, which forced him to step into the realm of combat sports. And that was the best decision for the Dagestani.

And if you’re also wondering the same, we got you covered. Let’s take a look at the time Magomedov spoke in English.

Following his unanimous decision win over Bruno Silva at UFC 294, Magomedov impressed the fight fans with his English. Of course, he wasn’t as fluent as a native speaker, or anywhere near the proficiency level of Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, he accomplished the mission of relaying his message to the fighting community, during his conversation with Daniel Cormier in the post-fight interview.

Needless to say, the Dagestani mixed martial artist certainly needs to put his language game strong. After all, he often finds himself in the middle of controversies. And to tackle that and put his honest viewpoint out in front of the public, he direly needs to enhance his proficiency in English, don’t you agree?
