Back in the day, UFC legend Jon Jones dominated the light heavyweight division. For nearly a decade, ‘Bones’ wore the crown of UFC’s best light heavyweight fighter, and did not let anyone come near his success. With record-breaking title defenses and dominant performances, his iconic reign will always be remembered by every MMA enthusiast.

However, Jones fought his last light heavyweight fight against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247. After that, the American MMA fighter became inactive and returned almost three years later at UFC 285, in the promotion’s heavyweight division. Ever since his departure, the 205 lbs division has been riddled with problems and hurdles. It has been more than 3 years, and the light heavyweight division hasn’t had a single successful champion. Many fans term this the ‘UFC light heavyweight champ curse’!
