Deiveson Figueiredo’s fighting style
Born in Soure, Pará, Brazil, Deiveson Alcntara Figueiredo grew up with little fortune to his name. However, through literal blood, sweat, and even tears, Figueiredo managed to grab fate by its tail and submit it to bring him splendid success. The Brazilian made his professional MMA debut in 2012 when he was 24. However, his journey as a combat athlete started way before.
Figueiredo, the son of a buffalo herder who practiced “Luta Marajoara”, a local folk wrestling style in Brazil, followed in his father’s footsteps to learn the art. Later, he proceeded to learn capoeira in high school and would start training in Jiu Jitsu before moving to the MMA Scene.
Despite having more KO/TKO wins than submission wins, with 9KO/TKO wins to 8 submission wins, Figueiredo is a black belt in Jiu Jitsu. What makes the 36-year-old so dangerous is his ability to dominate people both on the feet and on the ground. However, will that hold true when he fights a powerful opponent like Cody Garbrandt? Here is what Deiveson Figueiredo said about their matchup.

“God of War’s” confidence in his fight against “No Love”
The former UFC flyweight champion made quite an impression going up against Rob Font on his debut in the UFC bantamweight division. Given his win against Font, Figueiredo seems to believe that his matchup against Cody Garbrandt would end the same way.
During a conversation with the media, the Brazilian talked about his matchup against Figueiredo. He stated, “Everybody knows that I will fight anyone, that the organization has seen that I’ll fight anybody in this company. I think I’m just ready to fight on Saturday because winning on Saturday means I have the greatest opportunity of my life right now. I think the organization is going to see me with different eyes and give me some love and give me the opportunity.”
