Arman Tsarukyan has a big opponent to take down next as he heads into UFC 300. The Armenian MMA star is set to take on former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira, and he’s going to need all the tools that he has in his shed.
Tsarukyan is just coming off a brilliant finish over Beneil Dariush. The finish was a first-round knockout that kept him in his win column where he now has three consecutive wins after he last lost to Mateusz Gamrot. Defeating Oliveira could mean a future title opportunity for Tsarukyan, but how will he do it?

Arman Tsarukyan has a rather great balance between his striking and his wrestling. He can throw jabs disguised as hooks and usually tries to keep the distance short while striking. However, this does not take away from the fact that he’s also an incredible wrestler. However, he does not quite have a belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, yet.
Tsarukyan has a record of 21 wins and 3 losses and out of those, he has secured five of his wins via submissions. 9 of them came out of knockouts and seven via the way of decisions. His usual strategy involves working his opponent around the cage with his pressure.
His close contact strikes push the opponent into a corner and it’s then usually that he looks for the takedown. He often goes for the beloved rare-naked choke but the way that MMA works, it’s not always easy to secure it all. However, his wrestling cannot be denied.

Wrestling will be key for Tsarukyan because Charles Oliveira is a third-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He has 21 submission wins in his professional career, boasting 34 wins over just 9 losses and one no-contest. But Tsarukyan is also no amateur.
