The UFC has often been subjected to criticism at various points in time. Right from the initial days when it was termed as ‘human cockfighting’ to date, the largest MMA promotion in the world is no stranger to controversies. A number of MMA fans from all over the world have blamed the largest MMA promotion of underpaying its fighters.
Another recent issue that has created a lot of controversies is the UFC’s ties with the infamous Chechnyan warlord, Ramzan Kadyrov. Previously, a few noted UFC fighters had been to the lands of Kadyrov as his guest. The ‘Head of the Chechen Republic’ has been accused multiple times of human rights violations. He reportedly rules Chechnya with an ‘Iron Fist’. Kadyrov’s son is an MMA practitioner and many UFC fighters have often been seen training alongside him.
