Conor McGregor is already notorious for his antics inside and outside the octagon even though he is a legendary star in the UFC promotion. A few days ago, he faced a strong jibe from Ali Abdelaziz who mocked his recent claim of standing as a presidential candidate for Ireland. Now the veteran manager targeted ‘The Notorious’ on X and said “@TheNotoriousMMA, tell the people why you got kicked out of Monaco and why the real reason you’re not fighting.” Does the Monaco thing ring any bells?

Do you remember McGregor once went to the Monaco Grand Prix in 2023? If not then let us jog our memories, shall we? So, ‘The Notorious’ has gone to the Monaco Grand Prix two years in a row. The first time he docked his multi-million dollar Lamborghini Yacht sent fans into a frenzy. The next time he increased that frenzy by buying something extravagant. On top of that, something else happened in the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix which made him the spotlight.

‘Mystic Mac’ is a man of style as much as he is a man of strength. He might be injured, drunk, or even acting in a Hollywood movie, but he is always in style. The 36-year-old did not disappoint the fans when it came to this, at the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix.  On 28th May 2023, Formula One reached Monaco for an amazing race at the Circuit de Monaco. Many celebrities were in attendance including Tom Holland, Neymar, Orlando Bloom, Maria Sharapova, and Conor McGregor. All the fans were vying for their idols while the UFC fans were searching for McGregor.

Very soon a video surfaced of the former dualweight champion enjoying himself in Monaco as he was dancing throughout the venue. On top of that, he gave a grand entrance which was nothing short of royal when he came down from his luxurious yacht and appeared to support Haas F1 on Saturday.The Notorious’ was watching the event from the deck of his jaw-dropping $3.5 million Lamborghini yacht. This isn’t just a normal boat; it’s a buoyant piece of wealth and luxury. With two plush bedrooms, 4,000 horsepower, and a huge speed of 70 miles per hour, it’s practically a mobile palace on water.

“It’s great to be here, I enjoyed this qualifying round…it’s great to be here at my first Grand Prix in Monaco. I’m honored. I’m here supporting Team Haas. It’s all to play for, there’s been a crash between the top two. Our car I believe is freshest…There’s a storm brewing and we’re excited about tomorrow. Let’s go, Team Haas,” McGregor said in an interview on the yacht. The crash that he referred to was between  Sergio Pérez of Red Bull and Carlos Sainz of Ferrari.

2023 was going to be a significant year for him because he was also supposed to start training for his return to the Octagon next year, after recovering from his surgery on the leg. Not only were the fans worried about this but they were also concerned after watching his odd reaction during the event in 2023.

The champion had left fans concerned after a video footage of him surfaced where his physique did not look like a UFC fighter’s. The former dual weight champion had insisted to his fans that he was gearing up for the return to the Octagon against Michael Chandler. However, at face value, it seemed like he was far away from the gym. In one particular video, he was seen dancing and enjoying the festivities which left many fans a little worried. According to the UFC buffs his physique was not up to the mark.

After this incident, it’s almost a year and McGregor was vying for his chance to return in December 2024. Luckily there has been an update from Dana White, and McGregor might fight in the first half of 2025. On top of that he shocked the fans again but this time by saying that he would not maintain the two-year-old tradition of going to the Monaco Grand Prix.

Why did Conor McGregor not attend the 2024 Mocano GP?

The Notorious’ was recently featured in a live stream byDuelbitswhere he was earning some green bills while giving surprising news to the fighting community. One of those surprises was that he was not going to the Formula One race track in Monte Carlo on his superyacht in 2024. He was busy training for UFC 303 and his training camp would be clashing with the event date.

McGregor replied,Not this year. Not this season, I’m afraid. I had a great time last year. We won’t be going this season because we are in training camp.” He also revealed that his $3.2 million Lamborghini Yacht was in Majorca, a marvelous island in Spain. He also declared that he would be going to Las Vegas in two weeks. McGregor looked disappointed that he had to cancel his appearance but seemed excited for UFC 303. Little did he know that he was going to lose this chance in the Octagon again due to another injury.

For 2 consecutive years, he was seen attending the grand event and he even got slammed by the fans the second time. But this time the fighter had heard enough and he admitted that he was under intense training for the fight at UFC 303. Ultimately, he could not participate in this event as well due to a toe injury.
