During their fight at UFC 283, Moreno started the fight much more aggressively than Figueiredo. ‘The Assassin Baby’ then took control of the match and ensured he gave no chance to ‘Deus da Guerra.’ However, in round three, Moreno landed his biggest punch and opened Figueiredo under the eye. What seemed to be a poke in the eye later turned out to be a legal punch.

‘Deus da Guerra’ then protested about the eye poke, but all his appeals went in vain. Moreno’s punch landed on the opposite side of the face and the referee decided to stop the fight between the third and fourth round. The ringside doctor did not allow the former champion to return to the Octagon in the fourth round. This meant that ‘ The Assassin Baby’ was crowned the new Flyweight champion.

Now, the 35-year-old will return to the ring after a long time. He suffered a massive injury and underwent surgery on his broken orbital, which he sustained at UFC 283. With his flyweight rivalry with Moreno coming to an end with a controversy, let us find out what exactly happened to his eyes.
