Young rising stars often engage in amateur MMA matches in certain parts of the world. These matches, similar to boxing, modify the rules and require specific safety gear for the fighters’ protection. However, limited oversight in certain regions means that the presence of rules alone does not guarantee their strict enforcement. One such incident has come to light wherein protective gear was not used in an MMA tournament.

MMA fans all around the world have given their opinion on a tragic incident in Russia. An MMA tournament by amateurs saw a 16-year-old fighter suffer a gruesome fate.

Fans react to the saddening video of a 16-year-old MMA amateur

The video went viral on Instagram and Twitter wherein the fight was visible. The video showed two fighters inside the cage along with an official. One fighter landed a vicious spinning kick on his opponent resulting in a knockout.

Later, news broke out that the 16-year-old fighter died while in hospital as a result of the knockout. The fans showed concerns regarding the legality of such an organization on Twitter and Instagram.

A fan wrote, “Look like it hit da bac of bro head”. Another social media user added, “What did they expect to happen anything to do with the feet or legs has a higher chance of killing you then hands”.

 

Meanwhile, an MMA fan added, “Children and amateurs shouldn’t be sparring without headgear.”

Some fans added their concerns on Twitter.

Similarly, another fan added their opinion on the fight.

Twitter users sent their prayers to the families as well.

The fans were deeply shaken by the loss of the 16-year-old fighter as it has been reported that a probe is issued against the organizers of the Open MMA Cup of the Rodina sports club.

Probe issued after MMA amateur suffers a tragic fate

According to reports, the prosecutor’s office has issued a probe against the Open MMA Cup of the Rodina sports club in Belogorsk, Amur Region, Russia. Belogorsk Mayor Stanislav Melyukov said the consent was taken from parents as all legal procedures were followed.

Additionally, he added, “One thing…according to the regulations on holding the Cup, all athletes aged 16-17 must wear open-type boxing helmets.”

However, after further investigations, the legality of the organization would come to light. Nevertheless, the saddening demise of the 16-year-old has shaken the MMA world.
