This lightweight UFC fighter has seen it all, from the loss of family members to the foster system. After years of trying as an independent fighter starting in 2018, he was associated with big MMA brands before making his first appearance at UFC 156 in February 2013. He defeated Jacob Volkmann via rear naked choke in Round 3. Two of his biggest strengths are his wrestling and jiu-jitsu skills.

Currently, Green is coming off an impressive win over Grant Dawson in the main event of UFC Vegas 80. We will next see the ‘King’ at UFC 290 against Jalin Turner. Given his scope of fight skills, let us find out whether the American has a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu.

A mainstay at the lightweight division for quite some time now, one of King’s biggest strengths is his ability to take on fights on short notice. Over the years, he has transformed his fighting style and has started using his Jiu-Jitsu skills as well. He is not only a great striker but also uses his boxing-centric fighting style in his fights.

In his initial days of fighting, Green used a very peculiar style of fighting and called it ‘hood’. This technique allowed him to confuse his opponents and even surprise them during fights. ‘King’s’ unusual technique helped him to win a lot of matches in his career. However, Green has proved that he is not a one-dimensional fighter. He has a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu and has won fights via submission as well.

‘King’ currently has an MMA record of 46 fights. He has won 39 contests- 10 by K.O., 11 by decision, and 9 by Submission. He has also lost 14 fights during his time at the UFC. Green is rising the ranks after his impressive performances in the fights, even those the experts deemed losing matches for him. So now the question lingers amongst the fans- what are his chances against Jalin Turner?

After a recent announcement by UFC CEO Dana White, ‘King’ will be facing Jalin Turner in his next fight. The fighter has been roped in to replace Dan Hooker, who unfortunately injured the same arm which he injured against Turner at UFC 290. The fight has been reduced to three rounds after’ The Tarantula’ accepted the fight at such short notice.

Turner currently holds a record of 13-7-0 and is recovering from two consecutive losses against Mateusz Gamrot and Dan Hooker, respectively. With the common support diverted towards underdog Green, it would be interesting to see the outcome of this epic face-off.
