As he awaits the premiere of his Hollywood debut movie ‘Road House’, Conor McGregor had a message for another Irish movie star. In a recent tweet, the Irish MMA icon congratulated actor Barry Keoghan for his win at this year’s BAFTA awards. Keoghan won the award for the best supporting actor role in the Irish dark comedy, ‘The Banshees of Inisherin.’

Keoghan shared the award with fellow Irish star Kerry Condon. Both actors won the award for their roles in the same film. Conor McGregor has never been one to shy away from his pride in his Irish heritage. As such, he promptly congratulated Keoghan after the Irish actor’s achievements at the BAFTA 2023 caught the 34-year-old’s eye.

In a recent tweet, Conor McGregor showered praise on Barry Keoghan after the 30-year-old bagged the BAFTA award in the supporting actor category. “The Notorious” one shared his excitement for Keoghan, who had a real rags-to-riches story on his way to global stardom.
In his tweet, McGregor wrote, “Congrats @BarryKeoghan on winning the Bafta with Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleesons Irish film “The Banshees of Inisherin” What a story this young man is having! Delighted for you mate, some pup. Onwards to Oscar!”

McGregor signed off on his message, envisioning an Oscar win for Keoghan.
Set in Ireland, ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’ received critical acclaim and is a serious contender for several prestigious film awards. Alongside seasoned actors like Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, Barry Keoghan, also put forth a moving performance. His BAFTA win is a testimony to the same.

With his own debut film set to hit the screens soon, McGregor will join an elite company as an actor out of Ireland.
What we know about McGregor’s debut film so far
‘Road House’ will be a remake of the 1989 classic of the same name. According to reports, the Irishman will play an original character in the remake, alongside lead actor Jake Gyllenhaal.

In an interview back in November, the ‘Nightcrawler’ star dropped an update on the film. The 42-year-old revealed on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ that the filming for the movie had wrapped.
With any luck, fans will get to see McGregor alongside Gyllenhaal in ‘Road House’ in the latter half of 2023.
