Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz is in the news again. Controversy and ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ seem to go hand in hand. Ortiz never seems far away from a squabble and this was quite apparent during his time as an active MMA fighter. But some things don’t change.

In his latest brush with controversy, a viral video clip has emerged in which Ortiz can be seen doing something to a Florida radio show host live on air, which has left fans less than impressed.

Does Tito Ortiz want attention?

In the video, the radio show host was willing to participate in a chokehold from Ortiz; however, what happened next would have left most people blindsided. The host was held in a chokehold by the former fighter, who proceeded to put him to sleep. However, the host started tapping Ortiz’s arm as he put more pressure on the host’s neck. He passed out as Ortiz finally let go and proceeded to wake him up.

The host woke up and was helped to his feet by Ortiz. As the video found its way to social media, fans were far from amused.

Most fans called out Ortiz for this act.

“This is becoming a very dumb trend all just for clout. It could end badly one day.”

“There’s no way I’m asking anyone to do that to me”

“What a moron”

“Homie tapped out tito squeezed harder cx”

“Woke up feeling refreshed and sh*t”

“This is not intelligent”

“That maybe tito’s first and last rnc of his career.”

The action seemed to invite a lot of criticism as fans were not on board.

Choking people out seems to be in vogue. The ‘Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ is not the first person to be in the news in 2023 for choking out someone. Reality comedy star Steve-O, known for his crazy stunts, invited UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping to choke him in the ring after UFC fight night in Las Vegas. When asked, why he invited Bisping to perform this act, Steve-O said, “Because I am an attention wh*re.

Earlier in 2022, UFC lightweight Mateusz Gamrot was in the news for nearly choking out a Polish podcast host Maciej Turski. While some fans were amused, others encouraged the podcast host to press charges against Gamrot.
