Colby Covington hasn’t had the best week, has he? Joaquin Buckley dished out some unreal punishment to the American at UFC Tampa. In a fight that he was losing, he suffered the ultimate setback when the doctors called off the fight because of a gruesome cut over his eye. And just when Covington thought it couldn’t get any worse, he headed to The Bahamas to try his hand at the World Series of Poker Paradise Super Main Event, only to get eliminated on the very first day. Talk about a double whammy!
‘Chaos’, once a dominant force in the welterweight division, now finds himself in a rough patch both in and out of the octagon. You’d think after losing two fights in a row and slipping to ninth in the rankings, he’d want to focus on his game, right? But no, the 36-year-old managed to grab headlines, not for his poker skills, but for stepping away from the $5M table to deliver a rant aimed at his competitors. And boy, did it spark a reaction.
“Definitely a bunch of soy boys, “Covington declared in a video, dripping with disdain. “These guys can’t do anything but compute a math problem. That’s all they’re good at is math. A bunch of nerds and virgins on these tables for sure. This is the never touch a t–ty club.”

Classic Colby, some might say. But this time, the fans weren’t buying what he was selling.
“Peaked in high school vibes” Fans do not take kindly to Colby Covington’s antics
The internet didn’t hold back, and the flood of reactions came fast and furious. One fan immediately called out the UFC star’s lack of humor, writing, “U guys trying too hard to promote him as if he was funny.” Another user found it laughable that the UFC star felt the need to leave the table just to record his insult. “Crazy how he had to step away to say that. Soyboy detected.” And if that wasn’t enough, another user simply summed it all up with, “What a clown.”

Did you catch what he was wearing at the poker table? Reflective sunglasses and headphones. Sounds like the perfect look to intimidate your opponents, right? Well not quite. “He’s wearing headphones and big a– mirrored sunglasses during a professional poker tournament?” one fan scoffed.
But wait, it gets better, or worse, depending on how you look at it. Fans also linked his poker antics to Covington’s UFC struggles. “So glad he used his face to block all those punches,” someone joked, pointing to his recent loss.
And then there’s the infamous ‘peaked in high school’ vibe that was talked about. “Colby gives off major PEAKED IN HIGH SCHOOL vibes even though he’s made millions. Hilarious and pathetic all at once,” one fan commented, summing up what many seemed to think.

It seems even Buckley’s victory over Covington was ripe for the taking as the internet unleashed some sharp jabs. “Buckley did more damage than we thought,” a fan mused, hinting that the punches ‘Chaos’ took in the fight may have affected his judgment at the poker table.
So, what do you think? Is Colby Covington just leaning into his ‘Chaos’ persona, or is the act getting old? With his ranking slipping and fans turning on him, maybe it’s time for him to rethink his strategy. Is this the beginning of the end for one of the UFC’s most polarizing figures?
