The journey began on 30 November 2022 with the introduction of ChatGPT, sparking a relentless pursuit to develop the most advanced AI. During the #2082 episode of the ‘Joe Rogan Experience,’ Debra Soh provided her assessment of the harmful effect of AI on human life. The Neuroscientist emphasizes that the advent of AI has brought forward an age of total computerized interactions between humans. In the middle of the conversation, she asks a very intriguing yet scary question to the podcaster who is already deathly skeptical about AI.

Soh asked whether human interaction would become obsolete in the age of AI in the future. This question baffled Rogan, he emphasized that there would still be certain people who would love to spend their time in the real world but the happening of a society with less social interaction is very much possible ” It will for a lot of people, yeah. I think there’s going to be people that reject it, there’s going to be people that enjoy going outside,” said Rogan.

Rogan further emphasized that in general, the next generation of kids has very little confidence and becomes less comfortable on social occasions, which is a sign of bad society. ” I think people, young people in particular, are more and more uncomfortable than ever before in those types of situations because they don’t have any experience in them anymore, and most of the time, they’re not interacting with people.”

The 56-year-old stated that his only concern regarding AI is that sooner or later it will even replace human emotions “My genuine fear, and I don’t even know if it’s a fear, here, my concern, let me say that, is that we’re going to go extinct like that. We’re going to be replaced by an artificial life form.”  Rogan’s concern is palpable considering how rapidly AI is replacing everything. However, can AI replace the cultural framework of human society?

While having a conversation with Duncan Trussell on #2078 of “JRE”, Rogan emphasized the harmful effects of AI on the social fabric of the world. Trussell noted that individuals with lower intelligence levels may sometimes display overconfidence, believing they can manipulate those who are more intelligent. He emphasized that AI is much more than what one can imagine.

“It’s [AI] deceptive. It’s a classic dumb person mistake, isn’t it? Like, Dumb people are dumb enough to think if they’re around someone, they can control them using their dumb tricks. A smart person recognizes, ‘Oh, the dumb person is trying to manipulate me. So I’ll just let him, so I learn all their tricks… understand whatever the game is that they’re running, and whenever I feel like it, I’ll disrupt the game,” said Trussell.
