“We’re All Tuning In” – UFC Fans React to Conor McGregor’s Wish for a Trilogy Fight Against a Former Rival

Conor McGregor appeared in an interview after a considerable amount of time. He joined renowned combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani in a recent episode of ‘The MMA Hour’. ‘The Notorious’ revealed how he planned his comeback, including a fight against a former rival. Helwani asked McGregor if he had planned to come back with ‘The Ultimate Fighter’. However, the former double champion claimed that they presented the TUF offer to him. On the hand, his fight with TUF opposition, Michael Chandler, wasn’t the first choice. McGregor was looking forward to a trilogy fight against a rival who himself was one of the biggest names in the promotion.

McGregor said, “It was originally against Nate [Diaz]. It was me vs. Nate.” He added, “I did not mind who I was against, to be honest. It was Nate. It was like a day or two before. Now it’s [Michael] Chandler.” McGregor mentions that he is happy with the opponent. “I am happy with it. It’s gonna be a good bout for sure,” said the Irishman.

However, the former double champion is looking forward to fighting Nate Diaz down the line. He said, “We must fight. We’re one a piece, it’s a great rivalry, it was a great fight. So we got to square that away for sure.”
