The opening bout of UFC 275 just came to a close and what a match-up it has been. Unranked welterweight contenders, Jack Della Maddalena and Russian mixed martial artist Ramazan Emeev fought to the finish. While Emeev displayed how good he truly is as a wrestler, it was Maddalena who walked away with a win.

The first round is all it took for the welterweights to decide the winner, and it was truly an entertaining affair. Early in the first round, Emeev put his wrestling to the test and secured an early takedown. He threatened a crucifix, but then quickly secured a guillotine which he sunk in deep.

In a truly shocking fashion, Maddalena escaped the submission to get back on his feet. Nonetheless, he also put on a striking display by landing multiple combinations to end the fight and secure the win via KO.

Former dual weight world champion, Henry Cejudo, backed Maddalena as he went for the kill.

Also, MMA journalist Bret Okamoto praised Maddalena for not only winning by securing a sweet body shot KO.

Likewise, UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling also reacted to the impressive bout, as he called it a beastly start.

Subsequently, the fans also jumped in to share their thoughts about the fight. This fan stated, Maddalena folded Emeev like a picnic blanket.

A come-from-behind victory is truly special and UFC 275 already delivered a great start to the main card.

However, UFC 275 is on a serious roll, as back-to-back finishes put Maddalena in a great position in the welterweight division.

Not just the real deal, but he can also kick thundering body shots to close out fights.

UFC middleweight contender, Derek Brunson praised Maddalena for making an incredible comeback after being nearly finished. Also, he even dubbed him, as a real ‘savage’ as he earned a massive body shot KO win.

Surging bantamweight contender and arguably one of the rising stars of UFC, Marlon Vera found the finish quite beautiful.

Further, a body shot KO is indeed praiseworthy, as it doesn’t happen in the sport so often.
