McCormack trains out of SBG (Straight Blast Gym) Ireland, the same place that forged ‘The Notorious’ into a ‘champ-champ’ in the UFC. The ‘Road To UFC’ is a tournament that offers MMA fighters a way to make their dreams of fighting under the UFC banner become a reality. Danni McCormack, a veteran of Bellator and Invicta FC faced Yan Qihui and took one more step towards the UFC with a grueling decision win over the Chinese fighter.

So what comes next for the Irish WMMA star? In her post-fight interview, she made it clear that “…into the UFC in my own division, strawweight. After beating me 1st China girl, I have another one in mind, and she’s wearing a gold belt. That’s my number 2. I’m not stopping until I get that strawweight title fight, so give me a contract.”

Conor McGregor, not known for mincing his words, took to X to share a video of McCormack’s post-fight interview and declared, “THIS IS A PROMO! In at the drop of a hat to beat and maul the much bigger girl.” McGregor’s passion didn’t stop there.

He continued to hammer his point home with a fervor that’s become his trademark as he called upon Dana White by stating, “…announce her signing brother this is magic! @dannimccormack! FORGED ARMY! 🇮🇪 We’ll f**king mow them down!” The question now is whether Dana White will heed McGregor’s call and let this Irish warrior unleash her fury on the UFC stage. According to a UFC veteran, it doesn’t seem like Conor McGregor is coming back to the Octagon anytime soon!

‘The Immortal’ thinks McGregor may be “done”

The MMA Sphere has been holding its breath waiting for Conor McGregor’s return but it appears that 2024 will go by without ‘The Notorious’ stepping into the cage. Despite the Irishman’s recent claims about wanting to fight in December, UFC boss Dana White has made it clear that “As of right now, I believe that Conor will not fight this year.”

Does this mean that the fans should stop waiting for McGregor? Matt Brown seems to think so. In a recent episode of ‘The Fighter vs The Writer’, Brown shared that, “I’ve said it for a long time now. How many years have I been saying it? He’s done. I don’t discount that there’s a chance that he comes back, but the chances of him coming back are way lower than the chances of him not fighting again. He’s at, like, a 20-percent chance of coming back, I think.”

In conclusion, while McGregor’s return to the Octagon seems increasingly unlikely, his focus has shifted to championing the next wave of Irish fighters like Danni McCormack. As McGregor calls for her signing, one can’t help but wonder: Is this the dawn of a new ‘Irish invasion’ if Dana White gives in to ‘The Notorious’s demands?
