Is Joe Rogan's health decline a wake-up call about the dangers of HGH abuse in sports?

For someone in their late 50’s, Joe Rogan is exceptionally fit. However, fans have recently started to notice some unusual markers on the longtime UFC commentator’s body, believing it to be the effects of his human growth hormone use. But is that a good thing, or a bad thing? Well, in a recent escapade, Rogan’s friends, former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub and comedian Bryan Callen opened up on the dangers of using HGH.

During a recent episode of ‘The Fighter and The Kid’ podcast, Schaub and Callen turned their attention from talking about UFC fights to the star from the sitcom ‘Perfect Strangers, Bronson Pinchot, who portrayed the role of Balki Bartokomous. The actor, now 65 years old, seems to have turned his physique around, packing some serious muscles compared to the time he initially rose to fame in the ’80s. Regardless, Schaub believes that Pinchot may have dipped his hand into a certain substance.

While Brendan Schaub stated“Balki got on the saucy,” Bryan Callen agreed with the ex-UFC fighter and also let his detest for how Bronson Pinchot’s new physique be known. He replied, “Yeah, he did… That’s the strangest looking picture in body.” Callen, however, also confessed that people in his age group do get experimental at times.

“Man, guys my age might start doing some weird s**t with their bodies. Not a great look. That is a large cavity,”  Callen added. Meanwhile, Brendan Schaub’s assessment of Bronson Pinchot’s body led him to conclude that the ‘Perfect Strangers’ star must have used the same substance Joe Rogan does, HGH, indicating that its overuse could be dangerous.

“That’s HGH IGF-1 and your organs and like, abs are that big. When you have like that blocky build, that’s not TRT. When you do HGH, like your organs grow. So you get that power gut. It looks like a belly, but it’s muscle. It can’t be good on the inside,” Brendan Schaub added. However, the most surprising part of the video was when it came to addressing the concerns fans had about Joe Rogan. Would you believe it? Neither of them said anything about it!

The use of HGH is something that Joe Rogan has openly admitted to. As such, eagle-eyed fans noticed in some of his pictures online that he had formed a bubble gut. And guess what did the fans link that gut to? Well, they connected Rogan’s belly to his HGH use. Now, Brendan Schaub and Bryan Callen’s recent statements may have confirmed the fans’ worries about the UFC commentator’s HGH use.

Back in 2011, Rogan had said, “I took a lot of different stuff. Now, I take human growth hormone and testosterone. I go for hormone replacement therapy. I don’t need more [testosterone]. It’s a very light dose. The testosterone is cream. It’s healthy. It does wonders for your body.”

But after Brendan Schaub and Bryan Callen talked about the condition of Bronson Pinchot’s body at 65 years old, they completely snubbed their friend. They looked into Google images and searched ‘HGH belly’, and the results were pretty interesting, to say the least. Several popular names in the bodybuilding world popped up, including social media influencer, ‘Liver King’. The production head on ‘The Fighter and The Kid’ wouldn’t scroll down to find other results, but on the screen share fans could see Joe Rogan appear on that particular search as well.

Surprisingly, they didn’t react when they saw him appear on their Google search. Why could Schaub and Callen have done that? Maybe because Rogan is in no danger, and neither is Pinchot? If anything is clear from their comments, it’s that the pair deem HGH use common among people of a certain age group. If you ask Rogan, though, his bubble gut has got more to do with his food habits instead of HGH!

Earlier this year, Rogan had made an appearance at the UFC 300 event, which what seemed like a HGH-induced protruding belly to many. Even Rogan noticed this himself. However, in a conversation with stand-up comic Derik Poston, the 56-year-old declined to acknowledge anything and instead said, “I get fat. I’m pretty lean right now. I’m under 200, which is rare. Wow, I’m like 197, which is nice. But I’ve just been real clean on the diet the last few weeks.”

He further added, “Last few weeks, I just, I started getting a little fat. I start feeling a little bit of this, and I start paranoid. My gut starts sticking out. I would get it straight to the gut ’cause I have pretty thick abs too, yeah? So, any fat that goes on top of this right here, bar, yeah, it gets gross and it pokes out right here, yeah, and just starts looking gross.” Now that’s confusing!
