Speculations about Conor McGregor‘s next fight are circulating like wildfire. Amidst all the heat, Sean O’Malley, yet another fan favorite, hopes to see ‘Notorious’ face off against Charles Oliveira.
Currently, McGregor and Michael Chandler can be seen coaching opposite one another on “The Ultimate Fighter,” Season 31. UFC President Dana White had plans to arrange a fight between McGregor and Chandler, as a finale to the show. However, the hype around the fight is fizzling out as woes involving McGregor’s USADA testing seem far from over.
There are rumors on social media claiming that McGregor has lost interest in fighting Chandler. But that’s not all – Oliveira stirred the pot when he responded to the rumors on Twitter, expressing his desire to fight McGregor. And why not? After all, he’s just fresh off his win over Beneil Dariush, in a spectacular first-round TKO.

“Suga” Sean has said it: Potential Conor McGregor vs Charles Oliveira showdown may happen at this weight class
During an episode of the “BrOMalley Show,” O’Malley shared his enthusiasm for a potential McGregor vs. Oliveira clash. He stated, “I’m all for it. I will watch Conor fight pretty much anyone.” However, O’Malley still hopes to see the fight with Chandler happen.
Oliveira’s recent first-round TKO victory over Beneil Dariush caught O’Malley’s attention. He directed a small dig at Oliveira, pointing out that he often gets knocked down in fights but wasn’t dropped by Dariush, which surprised him.
O’Malley expressed his excitement, saying he would love to see the McGregor vs. Oliveira fight or any other matchup involving McGregor. O’Malley sure is a big McGregor fan! Tweaking on the weight class, “Suga” acknowledged that “Do Bronx” might not move up to 170 pounds, and McGregor might not come down to 155 pounds. He said,
“I would love to see any of them – God! There’s so many elements. Because it’s like, I don’t see Charles really going up to 170, but I don’t see Connor making 155”
However, O’Malley believes the Brazilian would gladly accept the fight at 170 pounds, reasoning,“…yeah Charles would take that fight at 170 – no issue. Anybody will fight Conor at any weight – ‘Give me the Conor fight!'”

McGregor and Chandler star in ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ this season, but their fight remains unannounced. In a recent post-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White admitted to facing complications in scheduling the much-anticipated Chandler vs. McGregor bout for 2023. At the conference, White also told reporters “how hard it is to put all these fights together.”
Though the 53-year-old promoter sounded optimistic, he acknowledged the challenges in booking a fight for McGregor – given his substantial wealth. Unlike most fighters, the UFC can’t exert the same financial influence on McGregor due to his extraordinary wealth.
During a post-fight press conference, White emphasized the difficulty of arranging fights, saying, “You have to understand that these guys have a lot of money. It’s like Khabib [Nurmagomedov] now. They have massive amounts of wealth, making it challenging to motivate them for fights.”
