UFC star Dricus Du Plessis recently occupied the headlines with his remarks about him being a true African with an underlying dig at UFC stars Kamaru Usman and Israel Adesanya. The comments ensued in a heated exchange between him and the middleweight champion. Morne Visser, the trainer of the South African fighter, joined the argument, escalating the animosity between them. While the famed coach bashed ‘The Last Stylebender’ for his one-dimensional fighting style, he also hinted at an August timeline for the title showdown between the middleweights.

Since the closure of UFC 287, speculations have gained traction that the 29-year-old fighter, who is on the cusp of breaking into the top-5, might be next in the line. The Hatfield native, with an impressive 5-0 record in the promotion, found a staunch supporter in his coach who strengthened his case.

Notably, the Team CIT MMA head honcho took to his Instagram as he issued a warning to the middleweight kingpin, as the team didn’t intend to wait for UFC’s South Africa card.

Visser thus wrote, “We will take the belt from you in August this year and if you are still in the game you can come and try to take it back in South Africa when the UFC comes to South Africa.”

“As proven Dricus “the real African with a African passport” finishes careers like in his last 3 fights in the UFC with only 8% oxygen. JUST IMAGINE WHAT HE IS GOING TO DO TO YOU the NEW ZEALANDER with a full gas tank,” he added later on.

Previously, Adesanya, in response to Du Plessis’ comments, had specified his intention to whoop his as* in either South Africa or Nigeria. Also, he added, “If he does work and I pray to God he keeps winning. I will gladly drag his carcass across South Africa.”

In addition, the South African MMA pioneer disclosed the ‘Stillknocks’ fought with an impairment for 3 years. However, he notified his pupil just went through surgery and was raring to go.

In the long-penned message, Visser pointed out that Du Plessis had faced a flake for his gas tank. However, the #6 ranked middleweight recently went through a nose surgery that came 3 years later.

Shunning the criticism of Du Plessis’ gas tank, he detailed how the fighter had a limited oxygen intake of 8%. The fighter huffed and puffed between the rounds and yet fought 3 times within a stretch of 7 months.
