The main event of UFC 293, which took place between Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland resulted in a new champion. Strickland dominated the bout against Adesanya and proved that he was better than the former two-time UFC middleweight champion. At the end of the five-round bout, the judges scored in favor of ‘Tarzan’, making him the new middleweight kingpin. There was no question that the Californian fighter deserved the win, as ‘Stylebender’ looked way too weak against ‘Tarzan’.

Moreover, the Nigerian fighter failed to bring any interesting element to his title defense after becoming the middleweight champion for the second time. Soon after Adesanya lost the bout, the UFC president, Dana White, made it clear that he wanted a rematch between Adesanya and Strickland. Presently, Adesanya’s team is looking forward to the same. Moreover, his coach, Eugene Bareman, is trying a new strategy for Adesanya when he collides with ‘Tarzan’ again.

We did it for Pereira. I’ve done it several other times with other high-level fighters.Israel Adesanya lost his middleweight belt for the first time when he fought against Alex Pereira at UFC 281. Later, at UFC 287, he was able to regain the belt when Pereira and Adesanya locked horns for the second time. Currently, ‘Izzy’s coach is looking forward to the history repeating itself.
