UFC President Dana White sat down for an interview with ESPN’s Brett Okamoto ahead of UFC 262 this weekend. Among many things discussed was the future of two of the greatest fighters in UFC history, Stipe Miocic and Jon Jones. Miocic is the greatest heavyweight of all time. Jones, on the other hand, is considered the greatest UFC fighter of all time.

Primarily, Jones’s future looks in jeopardy as ‘Bones’ and the promotion couldn’t agree on terms for the former light-heavyweight champion’s heavyweight debut. He was expected to fight Francis Ngannou for the belt in his first venture in the division. Ngannou had won the belt after an emphatic knockout win against Miocic at UFC 260.

When told By Okamoto that a lot of people think Miocic is the heavyweight GOAT, White responded, “A lot of people didn’t think he was the heavyweight goat he is. Yeah, I mean, he is the guy has, has put in the work and done all the things you need to do to be the heavyweight GOAT. He is. That’s a fact.”

Miocic took to social media after his loss to Ngannou and indicated that he is looking to bulk up a bit ahead of his return to the Octagon. The record-breaking former champion also added that he might become everyone’s worst nightmare. White also took time to name a potential comeback fight for the Cleveland firefighter.

And I don’t know. We’ll see what’s next. I like that. He’s, he’s fired up and wants to wants to fight again. But yeah, I mean, listen, we could do Jon and Stipe,” said the UFC president.

Neither Jones nor Miocic is currently a champion. But their body of work over the course of their career had been impeccable. They are hands down two of the greatest to ever grace the Octagon. Fans will be buzzed to see two fighters of that caliber throw down inside the Octagon.

While no UFC gold might be on the line for that fight in current circumstances, it can very well decide the greatest UFC fighter of all time. If the fight indeed gets booked, remains to be seen.
