The sheer dominance that the former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones showed in his MMA career easily makes him one of the greatest fighters ever. With only a single defeat in his professional career, ‘Bones’ has a track record many can only dream of. However, Jones hasn’t stepped in the octagon for almost two years now.
Since his hiatus, the 34-year-old had dipped in some major controversies. From announcing his sobriety to the public to being charged with alleged misdemeanor battery and domestic violence. He has been through all.

In addition to these controversies, Jones has been involved in a heated dispute with Dana White. Before making his debut in heavyweight, he wants a bump in his pay. However. the UFC brass has not agreed with his terms.
Recently a fan account of Conor McGregor’s asked Jones about his thoughts on White robbing him of millions. To which a person chimed in with, “He robbed himself. He’d be as rich as Conor if he didn’t keep on messing up”

This comment did not impress Jones. He quickly replied, “Hennessey has a sister company, liquor company. They offered me $80,000 a month some years ago to represent their brand. I turned it down. We are all on different journeys, my guy.”
Jones started the Twitter thread by answering the Dana White comment by stating, “It’s really not robbery if you let someone do it. I wasn’t equipped for the position I was in.”

When will Jon Jones return?
Many have been speculating about Jones‘ return to the ring after he surrendered his UFC light heavyweight title. He went through the act in order to move up to the heavyweight division. Although we are yet to witness his first fight in the division.

It is highly likely that he will aim to fight the winner of Francis Ngannou vs. Ciryl Gane next. The UFC Heavyweight Championship unification bout between Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane is going down on January 22, 2022, at the UFC 270 event.
This fight will definitely give Jones a worthy opponent to make his much-awaited return and debut.
