Amidst the chaos of controversies surrounding his civil case, stripping incident, and other issues, Conor McGregor seems to have found solace in his faith after months of struggle. In 2021, we witnessed ‘Mystic Mac’ baptizing his youngest son, Rian, in Vatican City. Years later, when asked about his connection to the country, McGregor had nothing but praise for Italy, and yes, it’s all rooted in spirituality and religion.

While having a conversation at the BKFC Italy presser, the former UFC dual-weight champion was asked about his relationship with Italy by a reporter, to which, ‘Mystic Mac’ asserted that he has a very spiritual relationship with the nation. Giving an example of his youngest son’s baptism in the Vatican, McGregor stated that Italy is the cradle of strong faith.

The Irishman said, “Italy, a strong Catholic country, a Roman Catholic country. I came here with my son, my newborn son, Rian McGregor, and we christened him in the Vatican.”

He further added, “So, we are a very religious family. We came to Italy, and we christened our son. That was my experience and relationship with Italy to date. Now, I’m here with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. You know, Italy, as well as being a very religious Catholic country, is also a country rich in warrior combat.”

Back in 2021, Conor Mcgregor and his fiancee Dee Devlin had their son Rian baptized at The Vatican. The entire family traveled to the holy St. Peter’s Basilica to have that ceremony. Holding one of his children, McGregor walked through the basilica while Devlin carried the baby inside the chapel. The event took place in the Choir Chapel, and the family arrived by minibus. McGregor was also seen sipping tea on a crowded Rome street, surrounded by paparazzi.
