Will the UFC's $375 million settlement truly change the game for fighters' rights and compensation?

“God told me to trust and I did even before the announcement. Watch to the end is what Cung Le wrote in his latest Instagram story regarding the antitrust lawsuit. After several years of battling against former UFC fighters, it seems like the UFC CEO Dana White as well as the former athletes under the promotion, have both found common ground. The verdict luckily seems to have played out both in the favour of UFC as well as the fighters. This was even announced by former MMA star and actor Cung Le on his social media, and he seemed to be elated at the final verdict.

A $375 million settlement was administered by the Nevada judge and it has been backed by the plaintiffs as well as the judge. The  TKO group and the plaintiffs had agreed to settle one of the two anti-trust lawsuits against the promotion last month. Judge Richard Franklin Boulware II approved the terms of the agreement on Tuesday.

Cung Le shared a video of him going to court for the final settlement hearing. He wrote in the Instagram story, “I thank God ahead of time because I trust Him He let me know it was done. When we left it’s done all because of Faith and Trust. The former UFC middleweight also wrote, “We put our trust in God Almighty to let this case settle and justice to be served and today our prayers were answered. The Honorable Richard Boulware approved the preliminary settlement. This will help out over a thousand UFC fighters.”

This case started when more than a hundred former UFC fighters had written letters in support of the agreement based on requiring security and relief for physical. mental. emotional, and financial battles after retiring from UFC. The lawsuits were focused on supposed violations of the Sherman Act.  The endeavors were governed by former fighters, including Cung Le, Kyle Kingsbury, Jon Fitch, and Brandon Vera. This has now finally seen a settlement. However, what did UFC have to say about this?
