Fans know retired UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov for his famous undefeated record in MMA. The 29-0-0 record holder has fought some of the best lightweights around the world. This includes fighters like Justin Gaethje, Conor McGregor, and Dustin Poirier.

His matchup with Tony Ferguson was also quite in demand. Unfortunately, the fight never happened and got canceled several times. While most fans know him to be the undefeated UFC lightweight champion, the Russian athlete had lost one fight in his early combat career.
Khabib is a trained Sambo fighter and had tasted defeat in one of those matches. In a video, Khabib was seen fighting a Russian Combat Sambo fight. Sadly, he lost the fight via a decision. However, it looked like a very close fight and both the athletes seemed to be giving their best.

Khabib, who was clad in blue, seemed heartbroken upon his loss, but his opponent tried to cheer him up. As per ‘Talk Sport‘, Khabib was 17 years old at the time of the fight. Hence, Magomed Ibragimov is the only person to have defeated Khabib Nurmagomedov.
This fight loss must have been a tremendous push for Khabib to excel in his career. He has started training from a very young age under the guidance of his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov.

Has Khabib Nurmagomedov ever lost a round?

There is no doubt that ‘The Eagle’ has been an extremely dominant fighter in MMA. He has been so dominant that he has successfully finished many fights in the first or second rounds. While he has, of course, never lost an MMA fight, he has previously lost two rounds in his entire UFC career.
As reported by ‘Sport Bible‘, Khabib had lost a round against Conor McGregor back in 2018. Both the fighter clashed at UFC 229 and while Khabib won the fight, McGregor managed to win the third round on the scorecards. Similarly, Gaethje had won the first round at UFC 254 on the scorecards of judges, Ben Cartlidge and Sal D’Amato.
