The saga of the Ultimate Fighting Championship began back in the mid-’90s that kick-started the movement known as MMA. The first-ever UFC card featured no weight classes, no rules, no time limit, and the pathway to victory involved submission or knockout.
There were a number of mismatches and on various occasions, different fighting styles clashed against one another. One such iconic match-up featured late Sumo fighter, Emmanuel Yarbrough & Keith Hackney.
Emmanuel Yarbrough was very popular during the early 2000s and met various celebrities. Among them were famous talk show host and comedian Conan O’Brien and American singer and actress Miley Cyrus.

Emmanuel Yarbrough met Cyrus at an MTV show
Miley Cyrus and Yarbrough took part in MTV’s TV show Total Request back on October 23rd, back in 2006. The pop singer was reportedly promoting the soundtracks of her popular Disney TV Show, Hannah Montana.

How many times did Yarbrough compete in UFC?
The sumo wrestler, only got a few chances to compete inside the octagon with the promotion. In his two outings with UFC, Yarbrough failed to secure a victory, losing his bouts via KO against Daiju Takase, & Keith Hackney.
His lone victory in his mixed martial arts career came against Tatsuaki Nakano in a shoot boxing match-up in Pride Fighting Championships. These three bouts are the only occasions when Yarbrough took part in MMA fights and, soon after, he announced his retirement.

He took his talents from the sport of mixed martial arts to the world of acting in 1997 and featured in an iconic Bollywood film Mr. & Mrs. Khiladi, starring Akshay Kumar. Yarbrough continued to make his appearances on TV shows and was seen making appearances in numerous talk shows.

His last known acting performances saw him being featured in a Motorola Commercial. He played the role of an inmate in Clarence Seroy in HBO drama Oz and lastly, reprising his own self in the German wrestling film Sumo Bruno.
