A video surfaced around 7 years ago in which Conor McGregor and the strongest man on earth, Hafþór Björnsson, fought or rather sparred. At that time, ‘The Notorious’ was UFC’s interim featherweight champion. The fight was rather playful in nature. Bjornsson is a popular strongman who played the role of “The Mountain” Clegane on HBO’s Game of Thrones.

McGregor was preparing and training for his biggest fight that time against the featherweight legend Jose Aldo. Meanwhile, Bjornsson became the first person to have ever won the Arnold Strongman Classic, Europe’s Strongest Man, and World’s Strongest Man in the same calendar year.

Conor, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighed around 150 pounds, fought with 400 pounds heavy ‘Mountain’. The size difference was ridiculous. Thor, 6 ft 9 inches tall, dwarfed the Irish fighter.

Joe Rogan’s comments on Conor McGregor and Hafþór Björnsson clash

More recently, UFC commentator and stand comedian Joe Rogan gave a reaction to this sparring contest. On his show ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, the comedian almost did a running commentary on this video.

“Conor’s moving around and he’s punched him in the stomach. The guy’s not doing anything. And the guy’s trying to grab him, but Conor does not let him grab him. [Conor’s] controlling it. The guy’s trying to grab him, but he doesn’t know what he’s doing,” said Rogan.

While Joe Rogan seemed more or less impressed with the way McGregor fought against a much bigger man, he added that McGregor likely wouldn’t have sparred with Bjornsson if he were a trained fighter.
