Stockton is a golden city. As it was developed and populated when James Marshall found gold there back in the 1800s. On top of that, the city is strong to its native roots and truly American; winning the ‘All American City’ Award five times. Recently, the Mayor of Stockton honored UFC star Nate Diaz by awarding him a key to the city.

The ceremony was at first going to be held during the tree-lighting ceremony. However, it took place during Saturday night’s Stockton Kings game at the Stockton Arena on Saturday night.
Nate Diaz is one of those attractions which garners visitors to Stockton. The MMA veteran has competed 27 times in the Octagon; with a 16-11 record. He has fought some huge names, including Conor McGregor, Jorge Masvidal, Leon Edwards, and Tony Ferguson.
Stockton Mayor honors Nate Diaz
Mayor Kevin Lincoln presented the key to Nate Diaz. The heartwarming ceremony took place at the Stockton Arena; where the fans raised the roof in support of their hero. In addition, the mayor himself posted a video of this on Instagram.

Mayor Lincoln, while presenting the key, said, “It’s an honor to be here, to present you on behalf of the city of Stockton, the key to this city. Put your hands in the air.”
Moreover, Nate Diaz was spotted rocking his iconic Travis Scott, Air Jordan. He wore them last time during his post-fight conference at UFC 279.

Nate Diaz is surprisingly behind Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier on this list. Before him, both the fighters have received the honor and keys to cities.

Back in 2021, when ‘The Notorious’ was touring the USA and recovering from his broken leg, he was bestowed this honor. Mayor Suarez awarded Conor McGregor the key to Miami.
Furthermore, Dustin Poirier was awarded the city key to Louisiana. In addition, he was awarded the Forrest Griffin community award for his Good Fight foundation.
