Conor McGregor is officially on the road to his UFC return after the first episode of TUF 31 aired on May 30. The Irishman features opposite Michael Chandler in a coaching role in the 12-part series. The highly anticipated premiere did not disappoint as fans got to see future opponents McGregor and Chandler interact up close.
The first episode laid the ground for the future ones. It showed UFC president Dana White with the TUF coaches picking their teams. As was given away by the posters, Team McGregor is in blue, and Team Chandler is in red. The Irishman’s team got all the prospects while Chandler went with the veterans.
Towards the end of the episode, the show gave a preview of the upcoming episodes. While it highlighted more training and fight footage along with that now infamous shove from McGregor, another interaction is winning hearts on the internet.

It was a lightweight contest between Nate Jennerman of Team McGregor and Roosevelt Roberts from Team Chandler. McGregor had confidence in the long rangy lightweight from his team. However, a crisp 1-2 combination from Roosevelt knocked him down. The Red Team member followed it up with a few hammer fists to close the deal and get his hand raised.
The opening night may have ended in disappointment for McGregor, but the previews suggest many more such contests to come. Who do you think will come out on top as the better coach? Are you Team McGregor or Team Chandler?
