Ben Askren is set to fight YouTuber Jake Paul in a boxing match on April 17th. This will be Askren’s first-ever fight in the squared ring against 2-0 fighter Paul. Askren has the backing of the MMA community to derail Paul. But, it looks like Paul has a certain Jorge Masvidal in his support.
Masvidal who knocked out Ben Askren in 5 seconds at UFC 239 can be seen sharing his traits with Paul in recent footage. Paul has promised to beat Masvidal’s time of 5 seconds when he steps across Askren in April.

Askren and Paul have been going back and forth at each other on social media of late, and Paul has certainly found a great way to get on Askren’s nerves. After all, nobody likes to be on the wrong end of the fastest knockout in UFC history. That flying knee is still a fresh memory in every fan’s mind.
Masvidal and Askren shared their share of rivalry as well. Askren did more than enough to get under Masvidal’s skin. But ‘Gamebred’ seemed unfazed and kept his cool demeanor throughout. Needless to say, the whole saga didn’t pay off very well for ‘Funky‘.
Who should Jorge Masvidal fight next?
The Miami native American Top Team fighter has been out of action since his failed bid for the UFC gold at UFC 251 against Kamaru Usman. ‘Gamebred‘ stepped in on 6 days’ notice to save the main event of the first-ever pay-per-view at UFC Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.

However, he fell short despite lasting the full 25 minutes and might have to fight a top contender before his next title shot. Many believe Colby ‘Chaos‘ Covington will be next for the UFC’s BMF.

The two former best friends and training partners have grown a considerable beef among them. From being roommates, they have gone on to become formidable foes and have taken multiple shots at each other. A fight between the two top welterweights is enticing for every fan and the UFC is also looking to make that fight happen.
Until then, though, Masvidal can sharpen his own as well as ‘The Problem Child’s’ skills.
