Paul Daley, the British welterweight fighter, is an MMA veteran. He hails an amazing professional MMA record of 43-18 under his name. Furthermore, ‘Semtex’ has competed in some of the biggest MMA promotions, including UFC and Strikeforce.

The Englishman has fought some of the biggest names in MMA, like Nate Diaz and former UFC champion Tyron Woodley. Daley currently competes in the welterweight division of Bellator.

‘Semtex’ is a skilled knockout artist with thirty-four knockout finishes under his name. Interestingly, he has defeated most of his opponents in the first or second round of the fight. Recently, a video of one of his ferocious knockout wins went viral on the internet.

In 2013, the Brit squared off against the Brazilian welterweight fighter Romario Manoel da Silva at BAMMA 14: Daley vs. Da Silva. ‘Semtex’ landed a right hook in the second round that went past his opponent, but the following uppercut sent the Brazilian to the canvas.

Daley has been competing professionally for two decades now. However, the MMA veteran will soon compete in his last fight in Bellator this year.

Paul Daley will retire after his last fight in London

‘Semtex’ made his Bellator debut with a unanimous win in 2015. He won two more fright via a finish. However, later, the 38-year-old faced a few setbacks too. And now, after being a part of the promotion for seven years with an 8-5 record, ‘Semtex’ will retire from the sport on May 2022.

In an episode of MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Daley said, “May 13 will be last one. It will be my retirement fight after many years in the game. The hours on the road, the hours in the gym have caught up with me.”

“And now every day, I wake up with a bad back and I’m just tired. Most definitely. I’ve put a lot of time in the sport, and I’m in a position to retire, fortunately.”

“I don’t want to be one of those fighters who’s getting knocked out all the time by the younger guys. I want to be the guy that goes out when I want to go out.”

‘Semtex’ will compete for one last time in a Bellator event on 13th May 2022. The event will take place in London and Daley will retire from professional fighting in front of his home fans in the U.K.
