WATCH: ‘Coach of the Year’ Henry Cejudo Takes UFC Center Stage Once Again; Trains With Alexander Volkanovski’s Rival

Former UFC double champion Henry Cejudo has found himself back in the corner of another high-voltage title fight.

‘The Messenger’ Henry Cejudo coached the Brazilian ‘God of War’ Deiveson Figureido to victory over his long-lost teammate Brandon Moreno amidst aspirations of returning into the octagon for a title shot for himself. However, the UFC top brass wasn’t keen on letting Cejudo return directly for a title fight.

Now, ‘Triple C’ has found a loophole to give himself the satisfaction of winning a championship bout, not literally, as he welcomes ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung into his camp before UFC 273.

“If I can’t have your head @alexvolkanovski I will have someone deliver it to me with interest. 🧟‍♂️#Andnew,” Cejudo Tweeted on Saturday.

The UFC 273 main event was on the verge of falling out after the initial matchup between Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski was canceled. The reason being Holloway’s injury, which he suffered in January during a training session.

A lot of featherweight contenders pounced on the opportunity to fight for the title. Giga Chikadze and Calvin Kattar were among the frontrunners for the reschedule. However, the most interesting name in the lot was Henry Cejudo.

‘Triple C,’ in his quest to become a triple champion in the UFC, looked at it as a great opportunity. And even roasted Alexander Volkanovski and the UFC multiple times for refusing him the title fight.

Although the former double champion couldn’t land a title gig again, he has surely got himself back into the trending section with the multitude of students he has invited to his gym. Some of the most notable names are Jiri Prochazka, Jon Jones, and Deiveson Figueiredo.
